The Diplomatic and Consular Representation of El Salvador recently hosted an event in Hungary to promote Salvadoran exports and business opportunities. The highlight of the event was a tasting session featuring Cihuatán rum, a product already gaining popularity in Hungary. Participants also enjoyed Salvadoran coffee and traditional dishes.
Ambassador Julia Villatoro emphasized the country’s initiatives in tourism and investment. With over 30 Hungarian entrepreneurs in attendance, interest in El Salvador’s business climate and potential market expansion was palpable.

Bálint Meskó, co-owner of Hungarian company PREMIRUM, praised the quality of Salvadoran rum and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to introduce it to Hungarian entrepreneurs.
During her visit, Ambassador Villatoro held meetings with Hungarian officials to strengthen bilateral relations and explore cooperation opportunities. These discussions covered various contemporary issues, educational collaborations, and the potential for Hungarian trade missions to El Salvador.



The ambassador also supported Salvadoran artist Fredy Solan, who participated in the renowned Art Market Budapest for the first time. El Salvador made a strong impression at this significant event, showcasing the works of its talented compatriot.
The event also included a meeting with the Salvadoran diaspora in Hungary, where Ambassador Villatoro presented the new face of El Salvador, highlighting its tourist attractions and delightful cuisine.
