The vibrant colors, dazzling lights, and festive atmosphere have taken over the newly renovated Plaza Salvador del Mundo in San Salvador. On Tuesday night, the government unveiled the revamped public space following a series of interventions and improvements carried out by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP).
Salvadorans and foreigners flocked to the rejuvenated square during the early evening hours to bask in the beauty of the transformed space. They marveled at the images projected onto the newly installed fountain, danced to the lively music, and captured the plaza’s metamorphosis with their smartphones.
Beatriz Segura, a local resident, was among those who visited the public space and was quick to praise the project for its contribution to the capital’s aesthetics. “I love it. I had seen it on social media, but now that I’m here, I see how beautiful everything is—the colors, the fountain,” she expressed.
Ana Ramírez, a Salvadoran residing in San Francisco, took advantage of her visit to El Salvador to witness the plaza’s renewal. “The changes are wonderful. Those who don’t see them are either blind or unwilling to progress. I want to come back to this country. I invite other Salvadorans to return as well,” urged the compatriot.
Thanks to the exceptional security measures and the Territorial Control Plan, the population can now enjoy these public spaces late into the night without fear or risk, as El Salvador has become one of the safest countries in the region.
It is expected that the number of Salvadorans visiting the Plaza Salvador del Mundo will increase over the weekend, as it is a time for relaxation and leisure. Authorities have called on everyone to care for the public spaces and not harm the newly transplanted vegetation and trees as they continue to enhance the country’s urban landscapes.
