In El Talpetate, Pasaquina, La Unión, students attending the Center for Education in the area are now welcomed into an improved infrastructure, distinct from its previous state. This educational institution has been revitalized as part of the Mi Nueva Escuela (My New School) reform initiated by the Government through the Ministry of Education (Mined).
The inauguration of the educational facility’s renovation took place with the presence of Education Minister Mauricio Parada, who emphasized that the students in this community would now have the opportunity to learn, play, and grow in a dignified school environment.
«It is rewarding to deliver another project and be a part of the educational transformation, where we fulfill a historical debt to the community that was ignored by previous administrations,» stated the Minister of Education.
The renovation works encompassed various aspects, including the renewal of classrooms, the installation of a new roof with thermal insulation, the implementation of non-slip and porcelain flooring, the construction of proper sanitary facilities, the establishment of a play area and recreational spaces, the enhancement and equipping of the kitchen area, and the provision of new furniture, among other improvements.
«The school, which was built in 1956, had never been revisited or given any attention until this government granted us this project for our deserving children,» said Lilibeth Reyes, the director of the educational center, where approximately fifty children receive their early education from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade.
The Ministry of Education’s commitment to addressing the historical neglect of this school showcases the government’s dedication to improving educational infrastructure across the country. This initiative not only creates a more conducive learning environment but also underscores the significance of investing in the future of the nation’s youth.
The renovated Center for Education in El Talpetate now stands as a symbol of progress, providing a space where students can flourish academically and develop essential skills for their future endeavors. With the implementation of Mi Nueva Escuela, the government is actively working towards bridging the educational gap and ensuring equal opportunities for all students in El Salvador.
