YouTubers and Content Creators to Cover Salvadoran Congress Work.

In a groundbreaking move, the President of El Salvador’s Legislative Assembly, Ernesto Castro, has invited YouTubers and content creators to cover the plenary sessions and work of the lawmakers in this State body.

According to Castro, this measure will allow these content creators to «inform our population directly, both those living in our country and our brothers and sisters in the diaspora.»

In a tweet, Castro reminded everyone that «the right to inform and be informed is not the prerogative of media companies.» As a member of the Nuevas Ideas party and a deputy for the San Salvador department, Castro is eager to give these workers of technological communication the opportunity to cover legislative work, which traditional media outlets have monopolized for so long.

This move has been backed wholeheartedly by members of Castro’s party, who feel that traditional media outlets have lost their ethical and professional bearings. «They sold themselves out so much that they no longer represent the truth,» said Roberto Silva, a prominent YouTuber, in an interview on Las Cosas como Son.

This decision marks a significant shift in the way media coverage of legislative work is carried out. It demonstrates the willingness of the Legislative Assembly to embrace the changing nature of media consumption and the increasing power of content creators in informing the public.

As Salvadorans look to stay informed and engaged with the political process, this initiative will undoubtedly provide a fresh perspective on the legislative process and foster a more open and inclusive dialogue between lawmakers and the public.
