El Salvador will host the sixth edition of the Producers Roaster Forum (PRF), which brings together the majority of actors in the coffee chain, from an estimated 40 countries around the world.
In the activity, which will take place tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In Nuevo Cuscatlán, an estimated 5,000 people are expected, detailed the Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC), the governing body for coffee growing in the country.
Competitions, forums, trade stands, tasters, workshops, buyers, and coffee lovers will come together in the activity that promises
In addition, within the framework of the PRF, the 2023 Salvadoran Barista and Method Championships will be held, in which an estimated 30 registrants will compete before a select group of international judges for a place to represent the country in the World Barista Championship (WBC), which will take place in Greece.
For the executive director of the CSC, Carolina Padilla, this international event, in addition to becoming the ideal place to promote the Café de El Salvador brand, also becomes a window to show the world the country’s progress in different fields.
“El Salvador is in a very positive historical moment. In addition to this flourishing part of the coffee industry, we have thousands of producers who grow their coffee under shade, producing some of the best coffees in the world.
Another reason, according to the official, is to solidify the relationships that already exist between producers, but also to link international businessmen (investors, roasters, buyers, and coffee shops) with the national coffee industry to contribute to the export dynamism of the sector.
On the other hand, Carolina Padilla stated that the international guests have arrived days in advance to include in their agendas visits to local producers, farms, areas of interest, and business meetings.
People interested in attending the event can reserve a place on the website producerroasterforum.com; they can also register with their Café de El Salvador code to obtain a Salvadoran discount.
