El Salvador has received construction bids for the Los Chorros megaproject.

The Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, informed that they have already received the offers for the construction of the Los Chorros road mega-project. He stressed that he would be awarded the work and that its construction would begin in March of this year. “Yesterday we received the construction offers for the project in Los Chorros. We hope to award it this month and soon give the start order. We had already received the supervision offers in December [of 2022],”, he explained.

On the other hand, he announced that they are about to enable traffic at the San Juan Opico overpass, since they have already placed the concrete on the last ramp. “For quality control, we are waiting for the hydraulic concrete to reach its adequate resistance to enable vehicular traffic,” said the official.

He also explained that in the coming months, the engineering design of the road project that will be executed in the kilómetro 5 section to Acajutla and the Litoral highway will be completed. This area will be impacted due to the high flow of vehicular traffic.
