“This government, and I personally, have a commitment to El Salvador, to you. We are working to guarantee their rights so that they can reach their maximum development potential and to create conditions for equal opportunities. We are working for them to play, learn, express themselves, be healthy, so that they can grow up and, above all, so that they can fulfill their dreams”, said the first lady, Gabriela de Bukele, during her participation in the event called “Let’s build a better world for girls”, organized by UNICEF.
This activity was developed within the framework of the celebration of the International Day of the Girl, which is celebrated every October 11.
According to the First Lady’s Office, the objective of the event is to advocate for an innovative, inclusive education capable of breaking stereotypes so that girls and adolescents can fully develop, have the necessary resources for their academic progress, and form critical-thinking and creative skills.
During the activity, a dialogue was also held with the Minister of Education, Mauricio Pineda, and the Vice President of the Legislative Assembly, Suecy Callejas. Likewise, an achievement fair was held in which girls and adolescents presented the results obtained in workshops developed with the STEAM methodology (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).
“We are working so that they can play, learn, express themselves, be healthy; so that they grow and, above all, so that they can fulfill their dreams,” emphasized the First Lady.
