Salvadoran Government confirms hundreds of new jobs for people with disabilities

The Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, shared important information at a press conference regarding the creation of new jobs for people with disabilities, in coordination with private companies.

“Now we are providing opportunities, 100% of the people who come to our offices are hired,” said the head of labor, who added:

“We found different sectors that had been excluded for decades. In the past, job fairs were held, which wasted the time and money of people who aspired to get a job, “he said.

This Tuesday, the minister assured us that about 500 new jobs will be placed for the benefit of people with disabilities.

The president of the Salvadoran Institute for Comprehensive Rehabilitation (ISRI), Ligia Gallardo, also participated in the relaunch of the Labor Insertion Program.

Minister Rolando Castro is committed to complying with international conventions on the rights of people with disabilities. People with disabilities have the right to be included in society”, highlighted Ligia Gallardo.

The ISRI president also assured that they will continue “as a related institution, in the certification of people with disabilities. We will continue to strengthen and streamline the process.”

Rolando Castro reiterated that, with his institution, they will continue to work hard, together with the ISRI, CONAIPD, and the government, in order to guarantee decent and dignified jobs for people with disabilities.
