The government of President Nayib Bukele reported that August could become the safest month in the history of El Salvador. So far, this presidential administration has accumulated more than 180 days without homicides.
The record for the safest month in the country’s history was last July, with a record of 21 days with zero homicides.
Between the 1st and the 24th of this month, 18 days have accumulated without murders. The other days that there have been homicides, the security authorities have immediately captured the culprits. This government is not willing to allow impunity.
Since the implementation of the emergency regime on March 27, 2022, the figures for days without homicides have registered 85, thanks to the effectiveness of the National Civil Police and the Armed Forces, who carry out the war against the gangs.
The effective results in the fight against terrorist gangs are reflected in the 50,851 terrorists arrested and made available to the Prosecutor’s Office and the courts of justice, which have sent more than 45,000 gang members to provisional detention, the rest are in judicial process.
El Salvador is the safest country in Latin America, leaving behind those decades in which it topped the dishonorable list of the most violent nations in the world.
Every day, this government gets closer to winning the war against the gangs and freeing the country from that cancer that has caused so much damage to thousands of honest families. The gang members maintained an armed aggression against the town.
