President Nayib Bukele inaugurated Sunset Park, integrating it into stage II of Surfcity I

The beauty of the Salvadoran Pacific coast will be the perfect setting to enjoy the mechanical games, such as the Ferris wheel, the roller coaster, the boat, and the rest of the attractions of Sunset Park that will be available to the population starting this Saturday, August 27.

The ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Ou Jianhong, in her inauguration speech, explained that the donation of the mechanical games was made with a view to joining the efforts of the Salvadoran government to improve the tourist infrastructure of El Salvador.

“We see with great joy that, under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele, surfcity is becoming a reality.” She commented that with the changes in the infrastructure, many more benefits will be obtained from tourism, increasing the attractiveness and beauty of the Salvadoran coast.

The president recalled the recent inauguration of Surfcity II, remarking that the beaches in the central zone that formed the beginning of the project will now be known as Surfcity I. In addition, he announced that surprise projects are coming to the coastal zone in the west of the country. He emphasized that it is the first time in the history of El Salvador that around $400 million has been invested in a single department, and he described Surfcity as the flagship project of his government.

The prices of the amusement rides will vary between $1 and $3. The park will be open to the public on weekends from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, while from Thursday to Friday it will be open from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

President Bukele narrated: “There were people from the political opposition who accused us of not having created the beaches. I explained to them that the beaches were made by God, but that it was the governments that made strategies and investments so that those beaches had tourism and benefited.”

President Bukele described tourism as a very great economic catalyst, adding that it can also be perceived by large sectors of the population, not only by the prosperous but by people in general, because it generates jobs that benefit everybody. He reported that this project is generating more than 15,000 jobs.
