The embassy of El Salvador in Germany arranged a meeting between the Vice Minister of Transport, Saúl Castelar, and representatives of the Alstom Development and Production Center, a company that works on the development of innovation in sustainable mobility, in projects such as the Pacific Train and other transportation initiatives. The meeting was held in Hennigsdorf, Germany.
Alstom is a leading company in the development of sustainable transport with the aim of guiding society towards a future free from the excessive use of coal. The company is a global leader in the development of high-speed trains, subways, monorails, infrastructure, and more in the digital age.
On the other hand, three companies submitted offers for the design of the Pacific Train, for which it has been projected that it will run from the port of Acajutla to San Salvador in the first phase.
The international design companies that presented the initial offers come from France, South Korea, and Spain.
