This morning, the Ministry of Economy, together with the Ministry of Innovation, announced the start of the Entrepreneurship World Cup 2022 (EWC).
“We are excited and proud to accompany the Ministry of Economy in this launch. We are convinced that technology facilitates development, we have a commitment to support the initiatives of El Salvador”, said the country manager of Microsoft El Salvador, Jaime Menéndez.
EWC2022 is one of the world’s largest and most diverse startup pitching competitions and support programs, with over 370,000 entrepreneurs from over 200 countries competing for life-changing prizes.Initially, a national representative will be selected to be able to compete later with the rest of the world.
This contest is led locally by the Ministry of Economy with the support of the Secretary of Innovation, who in turn invites national entrepreneurs to start and scale their businesses.
“Technology plays a fundamental role in the economic recovery of our countries. It is time to support SMEs,” said the country manager of the Innovation Secretariat, Andrés Ortiz.
He also stated that they have managed to evaluate more than 600 participants in each edition of the entrepreneurship world cup “As a government, we promote initiatives that contribute to the development of a favorable environment through innovation,” said Ortiz.
