The Junior World Cup in Surf City is the largest in history

During a morning interview, the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, highlighted that the “ISA World Junior Surfing Championship El Salvador 2022” surfing world championship, held in Surf City, is to date the largest event in history in this category. 

“This has been the biggest Junior World Cup in history. We had more than 423 athletes. I thank all those who worked jointly to carry out this event”, declared the head of tourism in the interview.

Along the same lines, she explained that detainees as part of the Zero Leisure Plan contributed to the structures for the organization of the World Surf Championship in the Junior category.

“We are seeing that these international surfing tournaments give tourism sustainability to the entire coastal marine area. With the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 2022, there are already six international tournaments held in this administration, and we will have one more in the east of the country,” said the official.

During the three years of President Nayib Bukele’s administration, several efforts have been focused on continuing to revitalize and promote tourism in the country. For this reason, they will continue to support mountain tourism and birdwatching; likewise, visits to protected natural areas and work on the reactivation of the Historic Center of the capital, among other visionary projects.
