Karina Arrué became the first Salvadoran to reach the highest peak on planet Earth, Mount Everest, located in the Himalayas on the border of China and Nepal.
This was confirmed by the Everest Today Twitter account, which reports on the path taken by mountaineers to reach the longed-for summit.
Alpha Karina made multiple efforts and years of continuous training to achieve the feat.
With the support of the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES), the athlete traveled to the Himalayas last year to fulfill her dream. She was a few meters from reaching the top, but she did not give up.
This year, 2022, she undertook her second trip and managed to reach the summit.
