Connectivity was improved with an overpass on the highway to Comalapa and the coast.

The Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, delivered the new overpass located at the intersection of the Autopista Comalapa and the Carretera del Litoral, in the department of La Paz, which will improve connectivity in the area and benefit more than 45,000 drivers.

“It will guarantee that the vehicular cargo that comes from the port of Acajutla to the Litoral highway can be incorporated into the highway to Comalapa through the interchange” – declared the minister at the inauguration event.

The overpass consists of four lanes for better mobility between the San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport and San Salvador, as well as an elliptical roundabout to facilitate road connections in the area.

It also has two bridges that are approximately 35 meters long, in order to avoid traffic accidents.

The work had an investment of $6.7 million for its construction and supervision. It was executed entirely with funds from the government of President Nayib Bukele.

“The resources were allocated by the MOP to build this important work that will improve connectivity and road safety for thousands of drivers who pass through that area” – said the official.
