The construction of the Pacific Airport will begin this year

The country is at the gates of the execution of mega logistics infrastructure projects that are part of the economic revitalization plans of President Nayib Bukele. The closest of these is the Pacific Airport.

According to the presidential commissioner for Strategic Projects, Cristian Flores, the feasibility study is in its final stage. “We already have a detailed location in the department of La Unión, which will bring benefits not only to that department but to the entire country” — he said.

In this context, he pointed out that, given the excellent results obtained in the economic study that the government received at the end of February, it is projected that President Nayib Bukele will secure the first one this year.

“The economic study showed that there is great commercial potential. If we only talk about 20,000 square meters, this allows for an airport with a dynamic that can have shops, restaurants, and different services,” he said.

He also indicated that, in terms of employability, the new air terminal will generate more than 4,700 jobs in the first year, with a projection of 50,000 within 10 years.
