Salvadorans abroad generated $229 million in investment

The Export and Investment Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESA) reported that Salvadorans Abroad (SALEX) generated at least $229 million in investment.

«Through their projects, nearly 100 Salvadorans abroad have contributed to the economic and social development of the country. Until the end of 2021, we generated more than $229 million through the SALEX Investment Attraction Directorate and municipalities» as published by PROESA.

With the development of these investments, it shows that the country continues to be an attractive destination for international investors and, above all, for Salvadorans abroad.

The agency explained that Salvadorans abroad are committed to developing projects in their municipalities of origin in order to generate employment and reduce migration.

Despite the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, PROESA believes that foreign investment through Salvadorans will continue to be a driving force in the economy.

Since 2019, the positive expectations of this project have been fulfilled and, to date, they are developing business projects in the country with capital from Salvadorans living in the United States.
