The ambassador of El Salvador in Sweden and concurrent to Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, and Norway, Patricia Godnez, held an important meeting with the Latvian president, Egils Levits, to whom she presented her diplomatic credentials.
At the meeting, they discussed the possibility of reinforcing cultural and economic projects between the Baltic region and El Salvador, betting on understanding between both nations.
With the delivery of the credential letters, Godínez assumes the role as plenipotentiary ambassador of El Salvador to Latvia and will be the bridge to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation between both nations.
The Latvian president emphasized the interest of his government in continuing the political dialogue between that nation and El Salvador, in order to strengthen the bilateral agenda.
The Salvadoran diplomat also spoke with the vice president of the Saeima, equivalent to the Latvian parliament, Dagmāra Beitnere, to establish communication between that state body and the Salvadoran Legislative Assembly.
At the meeting, it was agreed to create legislative tables for the exchange of experiences in laws related to the fulfillment of the rights of women and children.
Part of the first agreements reached consisted of the creation of dialogue tables between both institutions, with a view to exchanging experiences and knowledge for the elaboration of laws that allow the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations and the rights of women and children.
