El Salvador close to reaching 9.9 million vaccines applied

El Salvador is one of the countries in the region with the fastest rate of vaccination against COVID-19, managing to immunize an average of 18,557 people daily, thanks to the strategic and timely actions of the Government of President Nayib Bukele. According to official data from the Ministry of Health (Minsal), to date, 9,894,572 doses have been applied, 25,591 have been for foreigners.

The country continues to have more than 160 vaccination centers so that people can go to the nearest center and complete their vaccination schedule. Health authorities consider that the complete vaccination scheme becomes more necessary every day to counteract the disease, given the clinical evidence of the existence of the Omicron variant in Salvadoran territory.

To continue with the protocols, the Minsal assured that since the end of December last year, after confirming the existence of cases “consistent” with the Omicron variant, each of the strategies in compliance with the biosafety protocols has also been strengthened.
