The leaders expressed that El Salvador and Turkey will work together to improve development and investment opportunities. During his first state visit in 2022, President Nayib Bukele met this Thursday with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The act was held behind closed doors, and later there was a press conference to explain the agreements reached.
The meeting served to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations and the search for investors in Salvadoran projects.
The Turkish president explained that a total of six agreements have been signed between the two leaders to improve relations between the two nations.
In addition, he mentioned that he would soon return for a state visit to Salvadoran territory.
The agreements signed this day are focused on the investment of Turkish companies in port areas and in a dry channel, as explained by President Nayib Bukele.
Other aspects that were agreed upon include the construction of a geothermal plant and military equipment.
The administration of President Nayib Bukele opened the embassy of El Salvador in Turkey, a fact that has allowed important cooperation agreements and humanitarian support.
Some of the projects that will be exposed to Turkish investors are focused on the Surf City plan, a tourist anchor for the coastal and marine area of El Salvador.
There will also be energy projects, where some Turkish companies are already betting heavily on investment.
