The Salvadoran congress considers creating a special commission for war crimes

The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador is considering creating a new special commission to investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the armed conflict in this country (1980-1992), confirmed the head of Nuevas Ideas party, Christian Guevara.

“Here there are also war crimes that must be investigated, and a commission for crimes against humanity or human rights violations is a commission that we are also evaluating”

Guevara added that “it is necessary to bring justice and that people really begin to believe that in this country they are beating all this string of lies that they have always told us.”

The initiative has the support of the legal advisor of the Presidential House, Javier Argueta.
