The lack of support of the Salvadoran civilian population for the political opposition in El Salvador led to the failure of the march against the government of President Bukele, called for this December 12.
Seniors and children were used by opponents of Bukele, to make it seem like the march had support.
The march was led by trade unionists associated with the FMLN, and by other members of the Alianza Republicana Nacionalista, ARENA.
The opposition party FMLN sported US flags in support of Biden’s policy towards El Salvador when in previous years, they promoted an anti-imperialist speech to favor Hugo Chávez, Fidel Castro, and leftism. Currently, that has changed since they are defending Biden’s interventionist policies in El Salvador.
