Global Alliance for Banking on Values Convenes Latin America & Caribbean Summit in El Salvador.

El Salvador has taken center stage in the international financial arena as Banco Integral hosts the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Meeting of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV). The high-level summit brings together leaders from top values-based financial institutions across the Americas and globally—including representatives from the U.S., Canada, Italy, and India—to discuss the evolving landscape of sustainable finance and ethical banking practices.

Prior to the main conference, the event opened with a public session alongside Salvadoran authorities and featured a strategic meeting of the GABV Board of Directors. The network, which spans over 70 pioneer institutions across 48 countries holding $265 billion in total assets, aims to address how financial organizations can balance profitability with social, environmental, and community development priorities.

Throughout the two-day gathering, international delegates and guest experts are addressing critical market disruptors shaping modern financial ecosystems, such as fintech integration, digital assets, open finance, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. By bridging technology with community-centered strategies, the summit underscores the vital role of ethical governance in driving regional economic transformation.

“This meeting allows us to share experiences, gain new perspectives, and advance together toward financial solutions that address the needs of our communities and the region,” said César Barahona, Executive Director of Banco Integral.Echoing this vision, Martin Rohner, Executive Director of the GABV, noted that “the meeting in El Salvador offers our members a space to learn from one another, analyze the changes transforming the sector, and strengthen regional collaboration.”
