A major step toward Latin American commercial integration has taken shape with the launch of the Puente Empresarial Perú-El Salvador. Spearheaded by the Corporación de Exportadores de El Salvador (Coexport) and the Cámara Peruana de Franquicias (CPF), the framework agreement establishes a strategic bridge designed to facilitate cross-border expansion, joint ventures, intellectual property protection, and foreign direct investment between Central and South America.
The initiative introduces a binational franchise desk, specialized internationalization training, and reciprocal trade missions, anchored by the upcoming Perú – El Salvador Franchise & Investment Summit. Designed as a pilot program initially targeting up to 10 companies per country, the strategy aims to identify at least 20 export-ready firms and generate concrete investment and representation deals within its first 12 months.
Key business leaders emphasize that El Salvador’s recent structural security improvements have created an optimal environment for foreign investors. “Peru sees an opportunity to use El Salvador as a gateway for all of Central America,” noted Franz Sattler Ormeño, president of the CPF, highlighting that South American brands stand to gain direct access to northern markets while opening doors for Salvadoran enterprises across South America.
Building on an established commercial relationship—where trade reached $11.1 million in Salvadoran exports to Peruand $98.3 million in imports from Peru in 2025—the partnership moves beyond basic goods exchange to focus on brand licensing and service expansion. As Coexport’s leadership emphasized, “we will accompany our companies so they arrive prepared, with protected brands and ready business models,” positioning both nations for sustained market diversification.
