El Salvador Begins 2027 Electoral Process as Supreme Electoral Tribunal Issues Official Election Call

El Salvador has officially begun the electoral process for the 2027 Elections, as the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) issued a national call inviting Salvadorans inside and outside the country to exercise their right to vote.

In compliance with the Electoral Law, the TSE announced the formal call on September 30, 2026, marking the start of the electoral cycle that will allow citizens to participate in choosing the country’s next public representatives.

During the announcement, TSE President Roxana Soriano emphasized the role of citizens in shaping the nation’s future through democratic participation.

“It is you, the citizens, who through your vote will decide the course of the country and legitimize the authorities who will exercise public representation during the next term.”

The El Salvador Elections 2027 process will include participation from Salvadorans residing both nationally and abroad. According to the TSE, the electoral calendar establishes key stages for the organization of the vote, including candidate registration periods and preparations for citizens living outside the country.

The electoral authority has highlighted the importance of maintaining an organized process that provides citizens with information about deadlines, requirements and participation mechanisms as the country moves toward the upcoming elections.

With the official announcement, El Salvador enters a new electoral phase in which citizen participation and the exercise of voting rights will be central elements of the 2027 democratic process.
