El Salvador and IOM Advance New Initiatives to Support Salvadorans on the Move

El Salvador is strengthening cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to develop initiatives aimed at supporting Salvadorans on the move and expanding opportunities for the country’s population.

During a meeting with IOM Director General Amy Pope, Salvadoran Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco discussed new areas of cooperation focused on migration and support for Salvadorans navigating mobility-related challenges. The dialogue emphasized the importance of translating international cooperation into practical outcomes.

Hill Tinoco also recognized the technical and financial assistance provided by IOM, known as UN Migration, which supports initiatives designed to create opportunities and strengthen services for people affected by migration.

The engagement reflects El Salvador’s continued work with international organizations on migration, with cooperation focused on initiatives intended to generate tangible benefits for Salvadorans and strengthen institutional responses to human mobility.

By expanding collaboration with IOM, El Salvador is seeking to connect international technical expertise and resources with initiatives that address the needs and opportunities of Salvadorans on the move.
