El Salvador Opens Agrobecas 2027 to Train Young Professionals in Agriculture

El Salvador has opened applications for Agrobecas 2027, a scholarship initiative designed to expand access to specialized agricultural education and prepare young Salvadorans to contribute to the modernization of the country’s agricultural sector.

Led by the Technical Secretariat for External Financing and implemented by ESCO, the program provides opportunities for Salvadoran youth to pursue high-level specialized training through a partnership with Zamorano University in Honduras, a recognized institution specializing in agricultural education.

The 2027 scholarship offering includes four areas considered strategic for the development of the agricultural sector: Agronomy, Agro-environment, Agribusiness, and Food Agro-industry.

By supporting advanced training in these fields, Agrobecas seeks to strengthen the technical capabilities of a new generation of professionals while promoting innovation and greater value creation across El Salvador’s agricultural economy.

The initiative also reflects the country’s broader efforts to expand educational opportunities connected to productive sectors, giving young Salvadorans access to specialized knowledge that can be applied to agriculture, food production, environmental management, and agribusiness.

Applications for Agrobecas 2027 are now open, offering Salvadoran students and young professionals an opportunity to develop specialized skills and participate in the transformation of the country’s agricultural sector.
