Surf City El Salvador 2026 Brings Surfing, Chess and Wellness Activities for All Attendees

The Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 2026 is extending beyond the waves, bringing together international competition, youth development and recreational activities along El Salvador’s coastal communities.

As the fifth day of competition unfolds at La Bocana, spectators continue to follow and support El Salvador’s young surfing delegation as it competes against emerging talent from around the world. The championship, taking place at La Bocana and El Sunzal, features hundreds of junior surfers representing dozens of national teams.

At nearby El Sunzal beach, the sporting atmosphere is also inspiring a new generation beyond surfing. More than 50 children and teenagers between 8 and 17 years old, members of the Salvadoran Chess Federation, are participating in a chess competition designed to encourage strategic thinking, discipline and healthy competition.

The activities demonstrate how Surf City El Salvador 2026 is becoming a platform for multiple forms of youth engagement. Alongside the international surfing championship, visitors and local participants can take part in wellness activities, including a yoga session organized for national and international guests.

The combination of competitive sport, chess and wellness reflects an effort to promote public spaces where children, young people and families can participate in safe and healthy recreational environments.

The 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship is part of El Salvador’s growing role as an international surfing destination. The International Surfing Association has highlighted the country’s continued partnership with the sport, with Surf City having hosted numerous major ISA events since 2019.

With surfing at the center of the international spotlight, the activities surrounding the championship are also showcasing a broader vision for sports, youth development and healthy recreation in El Salvador, giving new generations opportunities to compete, connect and develop their talents.
