El Salvador is preparing to welcome athletes, families and visitors to Surf City for the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship, with a program designed to make the international event accessible to everyone.
The championship will take place from September 4 to 13 at La Bocana and El Sunzal, bringing young surfing talent from around the world to El Salvador’s renowned Pacific coastline. The International Surfing Association has confirmed the country as host of the 2026 edition, further positioning Surf City as an international destination for surfing and sports tourism.
Beyond the competition itself, Surf City El Salvador has announced free activities for all ages, inviting both local communities and international visitors to experience the atmosphere surrounding the championship. The program includes recreational, wellness, cultural and sports experiences throughout the event.
Activities scheduled around the championship include yoga, Pilates, music, chess, fencing, surfing lessons, cardio bike sessions and rowing simulators, alongside Market & Music experiences that bring together entertainment and the coastal lifestyle.
The initiative highlights the broader appeal of Surf City El Salvador, where major international sporting events are combined with opportunities for visitors to enjoy the country’s beaches, outdoor activities and tourism offerings.
With world-class young surfers arriving for the ISA championship and a free program open to the public, El Salvador is turning the 2026 Surf City event into an international celebration of surfing, youth and coastal tourism.
