Salvadoran coffee is strengthening its position in the South Korean market following new efforts to promote the country’s specialty coffee among Korean consumers and industry leaders.
Federico Guerrero Avendaño visited Café Myungga in Daegu, where he met with the establishment’s owners and representatives of the Daegu Coffee Association to explore new opportunities for Salvadoran coffee in South Korea.
The initiative comes after Salvadoran coffee earned first place in the unwashed category of the K-Coffee Award this year, highlighting the quality and distinctive characteristics of coffee produced in El Salvador.
The meetings in Daegu are also expected to open the door for El Salvador to participate for the first time in the Daegu International Coffee & Cafe Festa, scheduled for October 29–31. Participation would provide an international platform to showcase Salvadoran coffee and strengthen connections with Korea’s growing coffee industry.
Through these efforts, El Salvador is expanding the international reach of its coffee sector, using quality recognition and strategic partnerships to position Salvadoran coffee as a distinctive product in the competitive Korean market.
