El Salvador has continued its humanitarian response to Colombia following the recent earthquake, with a second aircraft carrying 50 tons of emergency aid departing for communities affected by the disaster.
President Nayib Bukele confirmed that the aircraft had taken off, marking the latest step in El Salvador’s assistance to its South American ally.
The shipment forms part of a broader Salvadoran humanitarian operation that includes a total of 100 tons of aid, delivered through two cargo flights in response to the needs communicated by Colombian authorities.
The decision to provide supplies reflects El Salvador’s commitment to supporting Colombia during the emergency while respecting the country’s existing deployment of rescue teams, medical personnel, and other emergency responders.
With the second flight now underway, El Salvador is reinforcing its message of regional solidarity and humanitarian cooperation. President Bukele concluded his announcement with a message of support for the Colombian people: “God bless Colombia.”
