President Nayib Bukele honored the members of El Salvador’s humanitarian aid contingent deployed to Venezuela, recognizing their service and dedication during the emergency response following the devastating earthquakes that struck the South American nation.
During the official ceremony, President Bukele presented national medals of recognition to the Salvadoran personnel who participated in search and rescue operations, emergency medical assistance, and humanitarian relief efforts.
“Today we are here to pay tribute to the men and women of the Salvadoran contingent who were part of the humanitarian mission deployed in Venezuela. The medals they will receive represent the gratitude of all the Salvadoran people, and I would venture to say, also of the Venezuelan people,” the president said.
The recognition highlights the work carried out by Salvadoran rescuers, doctors, paramedics, firefighters, psychologists, veterinarians, and other specialists who provided assistance to communities affected by the disaster. Their mission included search and rescue operations, the deployment of a field hospital, and the delivery of humanitarian aid and essential supplies.
