El Salvador’s Ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, met with Troy Edgar, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), to discuss issues affecting the Salvadoran community in the United States and advance priorities on the bilateral agenda between the two countries.
According to Ambassador Mayorga, the well-being of Salvadorans living in the United States remains a central focus of her diplomatic work. During the meeting, both officials exchanged views on matters of interest to the Salvadoran diaspora while also addressing broader areas of cooperation between El Salvador and the United States.
“Salvadorans are a priority on my diplomatic agenda in the United States,” Mayorga stated, reaffirming her commitment to representing and supporting the interests of Salvadoran citizens abroad.
The meeting reflects the continued dialogue between the governments of El Salvador and the United States on migration, security, and other bilateral issues, while reinforcing diplomatic coordination on initiatives that directly impact Salvadoran nationals residing in the U.S.
