Air Europa is officially expanding its Central American footprint with the launch of a new nonstop route between Madrid and El Salvador, set to debut on December 17. The Spanish carrier will operate the flight three times a week using its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, connecting El Salvador with its existing regional destinations in Honduras and Panama.

This strategic expansion comes in direct response to El Salvador’s meteoric rise as a premier travel destination. The airline highlighted that the country welcomed more than four million international tourists in 2025, a staggering figure that practically doubles its pre-pandemic traffic from 2019. Air Europa noted that the decision aligns with the country’s growing appeal as a tourism hotspot within the Latin American region.
Beyond leisure travel, the new connection is poised to significantly strengthen economic ties and bridge the gap for the global Salvadoran diaspora. Transatlantic passengers will depart Madrid on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11:55 p.m., while return flights will leave El Salvador on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:10 a.m.
The final schedule remains subject to airport slot allocations, but the route is expected to heavily facilitate travel for tourists, corporate professionals, and families alike. By deploying the ultra-modern Dreamliner, Air Europa aims to offer premium comfort on a route that marks a major milestone for El Salvador’s booming aviation and tourism sectors.
