El Salvador successfully concluded the Beloved Wedding Summit 2026 on Wednesday, June 17, positioning itself as a rising powerhouse in the global romance tourism industry. The prestigious event gathered over 100 international wedding planners to explore the country’s diverse offering of luxury venues. Driven by the strategic initiatives of President Nayib Bukele’s government, the nation is rapidly transforming into a highly competitive and attractive destination for major international events.
During the closing ceremony, Eny Aguiñada, President of the Salvadoran Institute of Tourism (ISTU), emphasized the country’s unique ability to cater to diverse couple preferences, offering world-class spaces across beaches, mountains, and cities. “Visitors have had the opportunity to discover our different destinations, proving that we are a land of hosts with unique spaces,” Aguiñada stated, adding that government strategies have successfully established El Salvador as a secure destination that international travelers can confidently enjoy.
A major highlight of the summit was the revitalization of San Salvador’s Historic Center. Adriana Larín, Director of the Historic Center Authority, accompanied the event’s closing and noted that recent public safety transformations allow tourists to explore the city at any hour. According to Larín, the historic heart of the capital is now “an ideal setting for weddings and events that boost the local economy,” receiving praise from global planners for its architectural heritage and vibrant atmosphere.
By showcasing its scenic versatility alongside a renewed climate of safety, El Salvador is successfully capturing the attention of the lucrative North American destination wedding market. The summit has not only projected the country’s tourism potential onto the global stage but has also solidified its reputation as a land of unique opportunities, rich culture, and unforgettable romantic experiences.
