Salvadoran Attorney General Unveils 24/7 AI-Powered Complaint System to Modernize Justice.

During the First Sovereign Artificial Intelligence Summit (SovAI Summit 2026), El Salvador took a significant step toward judicial modernization. Attorney General Rodolfo Delgado introduced a state-of-the-art AI-assisted system designed to handle legal complaints and inquiries. This initiative aims to streamline interactions between citizens and the justice system, ensuring that help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, regardless of a person’s location.

The project addresses long-standing barriers to legal access, such as the need for victims to travel long distances to reach a government office. Delgado, drawing on three decades of experience as a prosecutor, emphasized that the goal is to put the power of the Prosecutor’s Office in the palm of every citizen’s hand. What we intend to do is deploy justice for everyone, Delgado explained, noting that the system will help officials better understand the reality of the problems citizens face.

A key feature of this new platform is its commitment to national sovereignty and data privacy. Unlike many digital systems that rely on international infrastructure, this AI framework will be hosted entirely on institutional servers. The infrastructure of the system will be under the total control of the institution; that is to say, there will be no foreign clouds and providers will not have control over confidential information, Delgado stated.

To ensure public trust, the system incorporates certified cybersecurity controls and fully auditable chains of information. While the AI assists in the initial intake and processing of complaints, human supervision remains a core component of the workflow. This hybrid approach ensures that every case maintains traceability and that technology serves to enhance, rather than replace, human judgment in the pursuit of justice.

By launching this accessible and secure platform, El Salvador aims to transform how victims interact with the law. The Attorney General assured that the system guarantees a fast and easy process for anyone seeking to report a crime. With this innovation, the country continues to position itself as a regional leader in integrating advanced technology within essential government functions and sovereign governance.
