El Salvador Targets 2 Million Visitors for Holy Week 2026 Tourism Surge

El Salvador recorded a significant milestone during the recent Holy Week season, reaching approximately 2 million visitors between late March and early April 2026.

The results reflect the continued expansion of the country’s tourism sector, supported by improved infrastructure, enhanced public spaces, and growing international interest.

Among the most visited locations, the Historic Center of San Salvador attracted around 760,000 visitors, while public beaches welcomed approximately 628,000 tourists, highlighting the strong appeal of both urban and coastal destinations.

This surge in visitor activity generated increased economic movement across key sectors such as hospitality, transportation, and local commerce, reinforcing tourism as a major driver of growth.

The outcome of the holiday period further consolidates El Salvador’s position as an emerging destination in the region, capable of hosting large volumes of visitors while offering diverse and accessible experiences.
