The El Salvador International Airport San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez has been ranked as the second most punctual airport in the world, according to global aviation analytics firm Cirium.

The recognition highlights the airport’s strong operational performance, with an impressive 91.7% on-time departure rate and an 89% on-time arrival rate. These results position El Salvador among the global leaders in airport efficiency and reliability.

Authorities also reported that the airport has already served over one million passengers in 2026, reflecting sustained growth in air traffic and increasing international connectivity for El Salvador.

The achievement underscores ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure, improve service quality, and strengthen the country’s position as a competitive destination for tourism and business travel.
