El Salvador Prepares for Easter Tourism Surge with Over 230,000 Visitors Expected at National Parks.

El Salvador is gearing up for a significant զբ tourism influx during the upcoming Holy Week, as authorities anticipate more than 230,000 visitors across public recreational spaces managed by the Instituto Salvadoreño de Turismo. The seasonal increase reflects both growing domestic travel and rising international interest in the country’s natural attractions.

According to Eny Aguiñada, preparations are already in their final phase to ensure visitors experience safe and accessible facilities. “We are at the doorstep of the Easter holidays, and we are doubling efforts to welcome this influx of Salvadorans and international visitors,” she said, emphasizing the institution’s readiness to handle the surge.

Among the most popular destinations are water parks, which tend to draw large crowds due to El Salvador’s गर्म climate during this time of year. However, cooler, nature-rich locations such as Parque Nacional Cerro Verde, Parque Natural Puerta del Diablo, and Parque Natural Balboa continue to attract visitors seeking hiking, scenic views, and outdoor activities.

Coastal tourism also remains a cornerstone of the holiday season, particularly at Costa del Sol. The area stands out not only for its beaches but also for the Estero de Jaltepeque, offering additional recreational options. Authorities have introduced accessibility improvements, including adapted cabins designed for visitors with mobility limitations. Meanwhile, ongoing infrastructure upgrades are expanding activities in the estuary area without disrupting beach access.

Beyond public parks, nationwide tourism is expected to reach even higher levels. Morena Valdez reported that approximately 1.7 million people are projected to visit public sites, historic districts, and coastal المناطق during the holiday period. “These figures reflect sustained growth in domestic tourism compared to last year,” she noted, underscoring El Salvador’s strengthening position as a regional travel destination.
