El Salvador will host the internationally recognized Oceanman World Circuit for the first time, marking a new milestone in the country’s efforts to position itself as a destination for international sports tourism.
During a press conference, Morena Valdez, Minister of Tourism of El Salvador, along with Eduardo Briceño, director of the Oceanman franchise, and Jamin Ventura, president of the Salvadoran Swimming Federation, shared details about the upcoming international event.
The competition will take place from October 16 to 18 at Parque Recreativo Apulo, located on the shores of Lake Ilopango, one of the country’s most iconic natural settings.
The Oceanman World Circuit is the world’s leading open water swimming franchise, held in more than 30 locations worldwide and attracting over 50,000 swimmers from five continents each year.
The El Salvador edition will feature the official race distances, including Oceanman 10 km, Half Oceanman 5 km, Sprint 2 km, Ocean Teams relay, and Ocean Kids, a category designed for younger participants. In addition to welcoming both professional and amateur athletes, the competition will also provide participants with the opportunity to qualify for the world final of the circuit.
With the arrival of Oceanman World Circuit, El Salvador continues strengthening its international presence in sports tourism while showcasing its natural landscapes to a global audience.
