The government of President Nayib Bukele continues advancing tourism development with the construction of the El Salvador Airport Hotel, a new hospitality project designed to expand accommodations for international visitors traveling through the country.
Authorities unveiled the commemorative plaque marking the laying of the cornerstone for the hotel, which will be built across from El Salvador International Airport in San Luis Talpa, La Paz Oeste. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism Morena Valdez, Minister of Economy María Luisa Hayem, and the president of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission, Federico Anliker.
Officials highlighted that the project responds to the growing demand for accommodations near the country’s main air gateway. In the first three months of 2026 alone, passenger traffic through El Salvador International Airport surpassed one million travelers, reflecting the airport’s growing role as a strategic hub for tourism, conferences, and corporate travel.
“The need for quality hotels is evident in our country, especially here at the airport, where many visitors traveling for conferences, events, and business seek nearby accommodations,” said Minister Morena Valdez, who thanked investors for their confidence in El Salvador and emphasized that projects like this generate jobs and economic opportunities for Salvadoran families.
The new hotel complex will feature more than 150 rooms, along with restaurants, bars, meeting and event spaces, and a panoramic rooftop. The development aims to strengthen the country’s tourism infrastructure while offering modern services for travelers arriving in El Salvador.
According to Fernando Paiz Andrade, president of Costa del Sol Hotel Group, the project represents a strategic private investment that reflects growing confidence in the country’s economic environment.
With this initiative, the administration of President Nayib Bukele continues promoting investment and expanding the country’s hotel offerings, supporting El Salvador’s positioning as an emerging destination for tourism and international business.
