El Salvador Strengthens Investor Confidence as CEPA Airports Achieve Anti-Bribery ISO Certification.

El Salvador has taken another step to strengthen institutional transparency and investor confidence as key airports under the administration of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA) obtained the ISO 37001 anti-bribery certification.

According to CEPA, the El Salvador International Airport, Ilopango International Airport, and the future Pacific International Airport are the first airport terminals in Central America to receive this international certification, which is designed to prevent, detect, and manage bribery risks in both public and private organizations.

The ISO 37001 standard establishes strict internal controls, external audits, and reporting mechanisms that help safeguard procurement processes and reinforce ethical governance. CEPA stated that the implementation of this system aligns airport operations with global best practices and strengthens legal certainty for national and foreign investors.

“This certification allows us to consolidate international standards, reinforce institutional ethics, and promote a more reliable environment for investment and economic development,” CEPA indicated.

The institution also reiterated that multiple reporting channels remain active to report potential bribery cases, including telephone hotlines, email, and official web platforms, as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability.
