AirSupport Group (ASG) has joined El Salvador’s national strategy to modernize its main international airport by incorporating new specialized ground-handling equipment aimed at increasing operational efficiency, improving ramp response times, and strengthening service standards for commercial, cargo, and corporate airlines.
According to ASG Operations Director Óscar Corado, the company has invested $12 million over the past five years in equipment from globally recognized brands such as TLD, Clyde Equipment, and Goodsense. “As a group, we are directly contributing to the government’s strategy to modernize airports and ports in the country. This is a significant step forward, bringing technology and operational capacities never seen before in El Salvador,” Corado told Diario El Salvador.
Corado highlighted that the machinery was tested under the demanding standards of Amsterdam’s airport, known for its efficiency and punctuality. “These teams were designed for first-world operations and are now fully operating in El Salvador thanks to AirSupport’s efforts,” he said.
The new equipment includes high-capacity TLD JST-30 baggage tractors, TLD NBL belt loaders with artificial intelligence for narrow-body and regional aircraft, 400 Hz ground power units to reduce APU use for cleaner operations, and a TLD COOL15 air conditioning unit designed for tropical climates. With this upgrade, ASG strengthens El Salvador’s airport as a regional cargo hub and positions it to support the country’s growing aviation sector.
