El Salvador continues to position itself as a regional leader in modern and secure trade facilitation, following a recent visit by official delegations from Chile and Uruguay to observe key advances in the country’s customs system.
According to the Director General of Customs of El Salvador, Benjamín Mayorga, the South American delegations verified firsthand the progress of the Trusted Operator Program, visited the company MELHER, which is currently in the process of joining the program, and reviewed several technology and trade facilitation projects aimed at strengthening security and competitiveness.
“We received the delegations from Chile and Uruguay in El Salvador, who learned firsthand about the development of the Trusted Operator Program, visited the company MELHER, and verified the technological and facilitation projects we are promoting to strengthen the security and competitiveness of foreign trade,” Mayorga stated through his official X account.
Mayorga also expressed his appreciation for the technical exchange with both countries, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in customs modernization. El Salvador, he added, continues to build an efficient, transparent, and globally connected customs system to support its growing role in international trade.
