Salvadoran Students to Learn Bitcoin Basics Through Redesigned National Curriculum.

El Salvador’s Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) confirmed that a fully redesigned Bitcoin Diploma will be added to public school curricula starting in January 2026. The program, created with local partners, aims to strengthen financial and technological literacy among Salvadoran students.

Presented during the Bitcoin Histórico event, the new curriculum was outlined by Nelson Inno, founder of WESPARK. He explained that the goal is to simplify bitcoin and personal finance through visual, dynamic and accessible methods. “We are in charge of designing version 2.0 of the Bitcoin Diploma for the nation,” he said, stressing the need for learning that accelerates adoption by making complex ideas easy to understand.

The updated diploma will cover savings, incentives, monetary sovereignty, mining and global finance, along with hands-on activities such as “Design Your Own Money.” The program will also use animations and real-life examples to teach responsible consumption, time preference and the origins of money.

According to ONBTC and WESPARK, this diploma is the first step in a broader plan to encourage youth entrepreneurship. As Inno noted, “First we educate, then we activate, and then we help people develop their own businesses.”

With this initiative, El Salvador reinforces its role as a global pioneer in digital currency education and advances its long-term vision of innovation, technological sovereignty and financial inclusion.
