El Salvador is making history as a family-friendly tourism destination, earning international recognition for its innovative approach to promoting travel that centers on family well-being and inclusion.
During an official event with the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), the Secretary-General highlighted the uniqueness of the Salvadoran initiative, stating, “This is the first time in the history of UN Tourism that we have a First Lady presenting an initiative like this. Everyone travels with their families to different parts of the world, but no one has ever promoted their country with this Family Tourism approach.”
The Family Friendly Seal, presented by First Lady Gabriela de Bukele, identifies the first tourist destinations in El Salvador that guarantee well-being, comfort, and family togetherness. Each certified location reflects the country’s growing commitment to tourism with purpose, combining safety, hospitality, and inclusivity for local and international visitors alike.
This milestone positions El Salvador as a global benchmark in family-centered tourism, demonstrating the nation’s broader vision of sustainable development and cultural hospitality. With its rich natural beauty, safe environment, and innovative tourism strategy, El Salvador continues to strengthen its image as a destination where families can connect, explore, and thrive together.
