Luxury Tourism Expands in El Salvador with $10 Million Oceanfront Investment

Grupo Cardedeu, one of El Salvador’s leading hospitality companies, continues to strengthen its presence in the tourism sector with the inauguration of Residence Cangrejera, a new beachfront hotel located in La Libertad. The project represents an investment of approximately $10 million and aims to promote sustainable tourism and community development along El Salvador’s Pacific coast.

Just 25 minutes from El Salvador International Airport and one hour from San Salvador, Residence Cangrejera offers guests an exclusive experience centered on relaxation and well-being. The property features seven Swiss-style rooms, including an oceanfront suite, all designed with minimalist and contemporary architecture that blends elegance, comfort, and tranquility.

“The opening of Residence Cangrejera reaffirms our commitment to sustainable tourism and the development of coastal communities. We are focusing on destinations that hold great potential for tourism growth,” said Cristina Rivas, Commercial Manager of Grupo Cardedeu.

Room rates range from $284 to $354 per night, including breakfast and access to wellness-focused common areas offering yoga sessions, natural juices, and healthy dining options. Complementing the hotel’s experience is Nácar, a restaurant led by chef Raquel Iglesias, specializing in seafood and tropical cuisine with prices between $10 and $30.

The property also includes a venue for up to 120 guests, ideal for beachfront weddings and private events, which have become a major attraction among Salvadorans abroad and international visitors.

In line with Cardedeu’s sustainability vision, the project supports local environmental and social initiatives, including sea turtle release programs and employment opportunities for nearby communities. During construction, 30 temporary jobs were generated, and 15 permanent positions are now part of the hotel’s operations.

Residence Cangrejera joins the group’s growing portfolio, including Cardedeu Lago de Coatepeque and Cardedeu Hotel Centro Histórico, inaugurated in March 2025 with a $7 million investment. These projects reflect the company’s mission to position El Salvador as a world-class tourism destination.

“Our vision is to align with the government’s efforts to promote tourism and to showcase the quality and creativity of Salvadoran hospitality,” Rivas concluded.
