The director of @COAMSS_OPAMSS, Luis Rodríguez (@LRodriguez_SV), announced that El Salvador’s construction sector has expanded by 33.87%, generating 167,000 new jobs across the country.
According to Rodríguez, the Port of Acajutla has registered a 60% increase in construction inputs, reflecting the overall rise in national imports. Additionally, bank loans for construction and real estate activities currently rank first in the financial sector.
“Construction is now the largest contributor to the national GDP, which grew by 4.1%. A plan that works,” Rodríguez emphasized.
The announcement highlights the sector’s strategic role in boosting economic development, creating employment opportunities, and sustaining long-term investment in infrastructure and real estate.
