El Salvador Expands Pediatric Orthopedic Care with Hospital Renovation.

The Government of El Salvador inaugurated a newly remodeled orthopedic area at the National Children’s Hospital Benjamín Bloom, reinforcing its commitment to improving healthcare for early childhood. The project was carried out in partnership with Shriners El Salvador and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, providing a modern space with advanced medical equipment and trained staff.

“We are providing an ideal space for patients undergoing orthopedic procedures. With this support, children’s health improves because we can implement everything that scientific evidence has shown us,” said Health Minister Francisco Alabi during the ceremony.

Tourism Minister Morena Valdez highlighted that the intervention included a full renovation of the area, with new electrical systems, air conditioning, lighting, windows, flooring, furniture, and restrooms. Shriners El Salvador contributed $100,000 to the project. “This integral remodeling gives children greater hope and a better quality of recovery,” added Shriners president Juan Carlos Otaegui Cañas.

Officials emphasized that the government will continue upgrading hospitals nationwide, under the vision that public healthcare can surpass private standards.
