New U.S. Hiring Agreement Opens More Job Opportunities for Salvadorans.

The Government of El Salvador, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has signed a new agreement with U.S.-based recruitment firm Labormex to enhance job placement opportunities for Salvadorans in the United States. This strategic partnership forms part of the country’s Labor Mobility Program, developed in close collaboration with the U.S. government.

The agreement was signed by Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco and Labormex Vice President of Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships, Brian Gannon, during a formal ceremony in San Salvador. Under the agreement, Labormex will assist U.S. companies in identifying and hiring skilled Salvadoran workers for temporary employment in various industries, including hospitality, agriculture, construction, and customer service.

“This alliance reflects our government’s strong commitment to promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration pathways for our citizens,” said Minister Hill. She emphasized the importance of providing opportunities that contribute to economic development and improve quality of life for Salvadoran families.

Gannon noted that the initiative represents “a tremendous advance in the way governments can support their citizens while helping international employers meet labor demands.” He stressed that well-executed programs like this bring shared benefits to workers and companies alike.

Since its launch in 2021, the Labor Mobility Program has facilitated the temporary hiring of more than 17,500 Salvadorans in the U.S. The program is recognized for its ethical recruitment standards and for protecting labor rights while supporting workforce development.

One of the beneficiaries, Giovanni Alvarenga, shared that the program has served as a real engine of economic and social progress. “This opportunity demonstrates that when real and secure doors are opened, Salvadorans know how to seize them with effort and dignity,” he stated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to strengthen partnerships with global employers who value Salvadoran talent and productivity, further positioning the country as a reliable source of skilled labor on the international stage.
